WEDDING VENUE SPOTLIGHT
Your wedding your way at Sywell Grange, Northampton
There are very few wedding venues in Northamptonshire that allow you to have the wedding you want. That isn’t necessarily because other wedding venues are trying to be awkward, but sometimes they just can’t give you the flexibility you want. This is where Sywell Grange differs from so many other wedding venues in the area!
Besides being set in the most beautiful of Northamptonshire country landscapes, there are very few restrictions – there is no finish time, no sound limiter, post wedding BBQs are welcomed, camping overnight is encouraged, no corkage charges, no additional payments if you wanted to do X, Y, & Z! It’s your day and it should be exactly how you want it to be. Oh hang on, there is one restriction – no Chinese lanterns. Not that we don’t agree that they look SO pretty, but they can hurt livestock in neighbouring fields.
Sywell Grange is the quintessential countryside wedding venue. The long tree-lined driveway and the crop fields make for stunning photo opportunities. The little pond, just on the edge of the marquee lawn, makes for a perfect feature to decorate and use as a backdrop for group photos.
Marquee weddings are a blank canvas, and this is something to embrace – not be terrified by! Whether you choose a standard marquee (clear span), a funky tipi, or the traditional pole & rope marquee, there is one thing to remember – they will do everything for you! You don’t need to worry about how you get toilets in or power to the site; your marquee/tipi company will have done this hundreds of times before and know what needs to be done.
While Sywell Grange isn’t licensed for civil ceremonies, there is the most wonderful gazebo set just on the edge of the corn field which is often used for wedding blessings and handfasting ceremonies. If you’re not too familiar with how blessings work, they are basically the same as a civil ceremony but not legal, so you’ll have to pop down to the registry office a couple of days before. The beauty of a blessing is it is far more personal. There’s no set script as each wedding is tailored to meet your requirements. You set the tone, the words, the readings, the music.
Sywell Grange is still a family home having been in the Civil family for over 40 years. Lindsey and her lovely dogs are always around for cuppa if you just wanted to pop over to have a look at your wedding venue – you can never see it too many times, hey?
